“SAFE TO SAY I’M ALL YOURS” – Thinking about you
‘Thinking about you’ is the breathtakingly stunning single from LA based Soulful-Pop Singer Songwriter and Multi-instrumentalist Marga Lane. Lane has performed at some incredibly notable venues across the US and recently caught the attention of Lance Bass who featured her on his Dirty Pop show on SiriusXM. Being a fellow N’sync fangirl I squealed with excitement when I heard. (🙌🏽 Paws up if N’ Sync was your life back in the day!) It’s definitely one to see and you can watch it by clicking the link here.
A rhythmic beauty; ‘Thinking about you’ is the opening track to Marga Lane’s forthcoming album ‘Undressed’. I don’t use this word lightly but believe me when I say that this upbeat yet seamlessly chilled acoustic song is pure ‘Perfection’. It’s the perfect blend of layered harmonies, a catchy melody, ad libs and silk like vocals. It’s the kind of song that will put a pep in your step and one you’ll want to have looped on repeat all day long. Easy listening Gold for sure. ‘Forgiven’ is the follow-up single to Thinking about you and Marga’s ability to tug at your heart-strings in the most sincere and mesmerising way doesn’t falter. Her artistry is second to none. With a distinctive voice and always authentic at the heart, her light radiates through her heartfelt, honest and relatable lyrics. Singing songs about love and loss in a very raw and real way makes Lane’s music easy to identify with, with each song acting as a reassuring reminder that there is someone out there that knows what you’re going through or has been there before. I had the absolute pleasure of interviewing Marga Lane. I double dare you not to fall in love with her and her music by the end of this article. Marga Lane is truly an amazing artist.
HH: Tell us a little bit about yourself – What’s your background and how did you get started in music?
ML: I started playing piano at 6 and from there I fell in love with music and performing. A few years after piano, I started taking voice lessons and going to musical theater summer camps. Honestly, I have my parents to thank for putting me in all of these activities. My mom played the piano so I think it was only natural for her to get me started at such a young age. I also played the flute in band for 8 years and picked up playing guitar and drums in high school. It’s strange because I don’t really remember being drawn to anything else as a kid. I used to figure skate, but other than that music and dance were 24/7 for me. Continue reading “An Interview With Marga Lane | Artist Spotlight”
