My New Year’s Resolutions | 2015



Take more Pictures / Photo Journal

Taking pictures is a nice way to spark creativity! Other than a Journal I think it is the best way to document and treasure those moments in life that can otherwise easily become faded memories. I’ve always loved taking pictures but spent most of my younger years shying away from the lens. One day I was looking over some photographs and realised that I was missing from the photo’s even though I clearly remembered being there. It made me realise I was losing  out on keepsake memories and I vowed then to suck up my fear of the camera lens in favour of the memories. I’ve gotten better over the years and this year I’ve decided to take more pictures of the things I get up to and the places I go in a bid to have long lasting memories which I can share with my kids in years to come.

Join a Book Club

Last Year I made a goal to read more; which I did successfully. I even started to listen to audiobooks to get through more books. This year I’d like to join a book club. It may sound a little ‘grandma-ish’ but It’s a great way to socialise with people who love reading and like to discuss them too (with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine!ha!) Imagine having a TV Show that you’re hooked on and have no one to discuss it with…It would make every cliff hanger and every exciting moment unbearable to contain. I have friends who watch the same TV shows as me but no one to share my love of books so that is why I think joining a book club would be awesome.

 Personal Development

This resolution covers my quite a few different areas; Health, Fitness, Wellbeing and generally brushing up on my skills and continuing to educate myself through courses and reading. 

I’ve started doing yoga and I’ve been loving it! Taking out a few moments for yourself and setting intentions for the day is a great way to start the day. You may not think it but it’s also a great way to break  sweat and build muscle too. It’s all around beneficial  for the mind, body & soul. As well as yoga I’d like to start running this year.

Today marks a week since I embarked on a vegan lifestyle, predominantly eating a 97% plant based diet. I’ve chosen to do this for ethical reasons as well as the health benefits plus intuitive eating has always felt the best choice. I was a Vegetarian for 11 Years or so, so it naturally feels good to me. I’ve been easing into becoming a Vegan over the last few weeks and loving the difference in the amount of energy I’ve gained and i’m looking forward to where this new journey will take me.    

Write a Cookbook

This last one is a recycled resolution from last year. I failed to make it happen last year so this year I’m really hoping to tackle this one; writing a cookbook. Nothing fancy, not planning on publishing it, I just think it would be a really nice idea to start writing down recipes in a rustic/vintage book in the hopes that one day i can pass it down to my children and they can pass it on to theirs 🙂

So that’s it! My goals for this year, let’s see if I stick to them.
