My Mum used to bake Vol-au–vents when I was younger as a treat on special occasions. She would fill them up with a prawn and red pepper mixture. (Note to self -ask Mum for the recipe) Though it’s not the exact same, this recipe reminds me of a little bit of my childhood. This recipe is equally as good so let’s get baking!
- Place Frozen Vol au vent onto a baking tray lined with Baking Paper ( 2.5cm apart)
- Brush with beaten egg or milk (optional)
- Place sliced red onions on the tray and place the tray in the top half of the oven for 13-15 mins, turning halfway through cooking.
- Bake until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven.
- Push down the centre of each case slightly and fill with cubed goats cheese and roasted red onions. Garnish with a herb of your choice; I chose Thyme.
That’s it! So simple and super delicious!
